Fantastic read. I was unfamiliar with COS and the Core Sensitivities, but this is such a helpful clinical lens. Thank you for your generosity in sharing this.
The 5 years line stopped me. I think most people, myself included, are quietly hoping it’s six months of therapy and a good book 🥲 Curious whether you find people can hold that timeline once they hear it, or whether it sends them running?
An extremely reasonable question. 😄 In my experience, having any timeline at all for this kind of work is actually a relief to people, who have often heard nothing but “it’s impossible to predict”. Having said that, as much as I’m an advocate for long term work, I think a genuinely meaningful start can be made in six months (or in therapy terms, 20ish sessions). So don’t lose hope! ☺️
I love how you included formal treatment, relationships and spirituality as good avenues! Enjoyed the read
Thank you so much 🙏🏼

Thanks Alix! Their work is so wonderful, and really informs my practice.

I loved reading this, so many gems inside. And thank you for introducing me to Kent Hoffman's work.
Thanks Naina! He’s a wonderful teacher.
